About Andrea
Andrea is a bilingual communications specialist with journalism, marketing and social science experience who has worked in private, public and non-profit sectors. She has strong multimedia skills and an international background.
She produces print and digital marketing content and material for multiple platforms for two B2B companies based in Arizona.
She has a master's degree in mass communication from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Her stories have been published by NBC News, the Arizona Republic, and others.
In Mexico, Andrea worked as a research assistant at the University Program for the Study of Cultural Diversity and Interculturalism of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she collaborated in the project “Remittances, migration and development of indigenous communities in Mexico.”
She got her bachelor’s degree in ethnology from the National School of Anthropology and History in Mexico City. She did ethnographic fieldwork with the Seri people in the Sonoran Desert, in rural communities in Tlaxcala, Mexico, and with undocumented immigrants in Phoenix, Arizona.
Her thesis research about healthcare strategies among Mexican undocumented immigrants in Phoenix received the Highest Distinction award, and a short version was published by the UNAM.
